Since its inception in 1958 Jet has been a leader and innovator in technology. From being one of the first courier firms to use two-way radios (65 pound Canadian-Marconi vacuum tube ‘portables’ !) in the early ‘60’s, to writing what may actually have been the first proprietary courier software systems on IBM 5110 and 36 platforms, we have led the industry in using cutting edge technology. Today, our fifth generation proprietary software allows our customers to place orders on-line as well as track them in route. Information concerning each individual shipment’s status, right down to its exact geographical real time location if need be, is available at the press of a finger from the customer’s office. Need a history of on-time deliveries, cost-center allocation or almost any other data mine function? It is instantly available to you via our Prometheus software.
Shipments locally are controlled by dispatchers using state-of-the-art intelligent driver allocation algorithm software. Each dispatcher operates with multiple-linked CRTs programmed with time sensitive alert indicators designed to give them a heads up on possible delays so that they can notify customers. Wall sized LCD monitors track drivers and plot traffic delays possibly affecting critical shipments.
Drivers are equipped with bar-code scanning portable communication devices that instantly update our data base on each shipments status. Real information, real time. A real competitive advantage for you in this business environment.
